Astrid Berens set up SIERAAD five years ago, with her husband, Maarten Bodt. It began in Hengelo, with a mere handful of specialized galleries from Holland,and a belief that jewellery was worthy of presenting alongside the best contemporary paintings.
This belief had become sufficiently endorsed, and the momentum of the developments in jewellery powerful enough, to necessitate that an entire exhibition be given over exclusively to jewellery, with the result that in 2005 Sieraad split from Art Twente and moved to the Rai Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam.
Sieraad Art Fair will be held there again this year from the 6th to the 9th of December, from 11am to 6pm.

We were delighted that Astrid kindly selected and organised the exhibition of work by Dutch artists
to be shown at last year's exhibition, and that she was on hand throughout aura2006 with information and advice
about the Dutch jewellers, and the work they made available for sale at the exhibition.
